Kuredu welcomes new General Manager Patrick de Staercke

Kuredu Island Resort & Spa, the Maldives’ second largest resort, has named Patrick de Staercke as its new General Manager.

To those who have had the pleasure to work with Patrick, the appointment does not come as a surprise. His professional background and excellent people skills have been a winning mix for bringing all resorts under his management to new heights; the popularity of one of the Maldives’ most romantic resorts, Komandoo, and the outstanding guest feedback that Hurawalhi is receiving, are examples of Patrick’s determination to exceed bottom line expectations and his drive to attain the best possible performance.

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Appoints Stefano Ruzza as General Manager

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island announced the appointment of Stefano A. Ruzza as the resort’s General Manager. Ruzza will be responsible for overseeing all of the resort’s management, operations and business development to continue positioning Conrad Maldives Rangali Island as one of the leading luxury resorts, and brand of choice for travellers to the Maldives.

Ruzza joins Conrad Maldives Rangali Island from the award-winning Conrad Koh Samui in Thailand where he held the position of general manager and was responsible for resort management, operations and leading the sales and marketing team. Prior to Koh Samui, Ruzza was general manager at Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort in South Korea where he was instrumental in driving service standards and introducing new food and beverage concepts to the South Korean market.

Originally from Switzerland, Ruzza holds more than 20 years of international hospitality experience with over 17 of these within Asia. His career has taken him to countries such as India, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.

Ruzza graduated from the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHL) in Lucerne. He is an Italian-Swiss hotelier who can fluently speak English, German, Italian, French and Spanish

Kurumba Maldives Welcomes New General Manager Ryszard Majewski

Kurumba Maldives is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Ryszard Majewski to the position of General Manager. Ryszard will be responsible for the running of this iconic property and overseeing all day-to-day operations.

Ryszard Majewski originally comes from Cape Town, South Africa and has worked internationally across a variety of properties in Africa, America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

His specialty fields include increasing revenue, guest satisfaction, increasing staff morale and developing new projects.

Coco Collection appoints Group General Manager and Head of Sales and Marketing

Coco Collection, the iconic Maldivian luxury hospitality brand, is pleased to announce the appointment of Antony Paton as the Group General Manager and Andrew Ashmore as the Head of Sales and Marketing.

As Group General Manager, Antony Paton will oversee the operations of all three properties in the portfolio. With 40 years of experience, knowledge and background of the travel and hospitality industry, Paton’s recent role as General Manager of Galle Face Hotel in Sri Lanka saw him lead a $30m restoration and re-launch of the hotel in 2015.

He has a deep understanding of the Maldives and the luxury market with the successful opening of Six Senses Laamu in 2011, and as the Managing Director of Operations at the Soneva resorts after that. His time with Soneva saw him lead the operations for Soneva Fushi, former Soneva Gili in the Maldives and Soneva Kiri in Thailand. With past experience of having served the royal family of Jordan, their majesties King Hussein and Queen Noor, Antony is well accustomed to anticipate the needs of individuals who lead high powered lifestyles.

With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Andrew Ashmore brings a wealth of experience in sales and marketing to his new role at Coco Collection. Most recently, he served as Chief Marketing Officer of Hashoo Hotels, Pakistan’s largest hotel chain. During Ashmore’s time there, he was overseeing all the marketing operations of the hotel group and was responsible in developing their vision and strategy in an environment that was challenging for tourism and hospitality. Prior to that, a prominent period of his career was with the renowned Hyatt group. With a Hyatt career that began in 1985, Ashmore’s last role was as Vice President of Global and Operational Sales for Hyatt hotels across EAME and India saw his strategic role in handling and managing over 350 key global sales accounts across the region from 2011 to 2013.
