Kuramathi observes World Environment Day

Today is World Environment Day, an important occasion where we reflect on the importance of planet Earth, encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection and preservation of our delicate environment. This year’s theme is ‘Reconnecting with Nature’ and Kuramathi synced in with a few programs to celebrate this crucial function.

Our team members demonstrated their arts and crafts in a first ever exhibition held at the Champagne Loft in the afternoon. Using everyday items and materials, they showcased brilliant articles such as a flower made out of coconut husks, and plastic bottles, skilful painting on wood, dream catchers made out plastic bottles and ornaments crafted out of recyclable objects.

The mystical delicacy of the Far Eastern Hot Pot and Mongolian style BBQ

Don’t let the title fool you, as this month we are thrilled to share the most exciting news about a favourite pastime on Kuramathi; dining! Set in an intimate and enclosed space featuring urban tribal art just beside Inguru restaurant in the Thundi area, a new avenue opens up for eager guests who love the idea of an epicurean meal served fresh and hot.

The concept of the restaurant is loosely termed as a fun restaurant that incorporates the element of a community-style dining experience with family and friends. It introduces tables with an integrated ‘hot pot’ mechanism designed to create a unique and novel group dining experience. This will mark a first for Kuramathi Maldives, and the idea is inspired upon by none other than the Mongolian tribes and their traditions of cooking meat and vegetables over a fiery camp fire. It has now reached the shores of this island to tantalize the taste buds of eager palates.

Choose from the 3 packages on offer, seafood, meat and a nifty ‘surf and turf’ combo.

The mystical delicacy of the Far Eastern Hot Pot and Mongolian style BBQ, Kuramathi Island ResortA typical dining experience for someone that might opt for the seafood would be as follows. Begin with a simple choice of base; whether it’s flavourful Thai tom yam, chicken clear soup or a Classic Chinese hot pot soup.

Next, you decide how you wish to cook your pick of fresh ingredients (that include peeled shrimp tail, Reef Fish Fillet sliced, New Zealand half mussel, squid, shrimp meatball, rice vermicelli, Chinese cabbage, green cabbage, carrot, baby corn, white radish, celery stick, spring onion, assorted Asian mushrooms, Chinese hot pot sauce, Coconut Lime Dip, Thai sukiyaki sauce & steamed Jasmine rice) in either a traditional Chinese hot pot, or as a Mongolian sizzling BBQ. Waiters/waitresses assist you, to further fulfil and complete this amazing experience.

Yes, indeed it is a feast to behold, so make haste to reserve this vivid gastronomic voyage!

The Fusion of Romance and Gastronomy

People always say that the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. At Kuramathi, we strongly believe that there is no better way to rekindle romance than with the old fashioned way of sharing a sumptuous meal together. There is indeed a magical feeling evoked, when you dine with your loved one at a surreal location, away from the clicking of cutlery, whispering conversations and for a change of scene to quiet the mind. And it is for these reasons, we offer Private Dining Experiences at 3 distinct venues that would promise a ‘memory stamp’ when you flick through the sweet memories of your holiday.

Designed for the ardent love birds, the Private Dining Experiences at Kuramathi are suitable even for the nitpickiest eater. A 5 course meal is offered, with a variety of mouth-watering dishes from tasty entrées to delectable main courses one could indulge in. The Lobster Dinner is set at the expanse of beach beside the Infinity Pool, with the tables adorned with tropical flowers. A lagoon lobster is the highlight here and you could choose to indulge it with rice or baked potatoes. The Romance Dinner shares similar features to the Lobster Dinner as it is also located on the beach, but in Athiri which lies at the heart of the island. Unbeatable panoramic views would become your backdrop as you share a gorgeous meal comprising of fresh seafood to succulent meats along with sparkling wine served by your personal waiter. Serenade Dinner, the favourite of the three dinners is a well-picked choice by our guests, since you enjoy the fare under a gazebo all to yourself, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Indian Ocean. It would be hard to reach a decision, with the alluring enchantment each experience provides.
