Club Med has partnered with Google Street View to showcase Finolhu Villas in the Maldives.
Google Street view has allowed many people to explore remote places including the Antarctic, Grand Canyon and even the Great Barrier Reef and now Club Med has brought this technology to the Maldives. The Street View Trusted Imagery release for their flagship resort Finolhu Villas is a world first.
The resort located on the island of Gasfinolhu in North Malé atoll opened in early 2015 with 52 villas with private pools and some are built on stilts over water. Explorers can now view all on Google Street View.
The resort also boasts another first in technology by being a 100 percent solar powered resort, elevating its eco credentials.
Estelle Giraudeau of Club Med UK said: “We’ve chosen to bring Google Street View to the Maldives to showcase this amazing eco-friendly resort and let people experience just how beautiful the island is before even stepping foot on it.
“We hope this will encourage people to not only choose to visit the Maldives but to choose an option that ensures the local ecology and economy are supported and protected.
“We also toured the island by drone earlier in the year adding this to the Street View experience lets people navigate at their own pace to see the beauty of the island.”
