Soneva Jani is a luxury gem located on the uninhabited island of Medhufaru, that sits in a large private lagoon in Noonu atoll. You can reach Soneva Jani by a 40-minute seaplane ride from the capital, male’. Their hospitality is beyond the top expected. After you check into Trans Maldivian Airways flight, you will be transferred over to Soneva Janis private lounge and will be offered snacks, beverages and massages, you name it! After this warm welcome you will be asked to make some decisions via an iPad based questionnaire. You will be asked to choose from what kind of pillows you want on your bed (provided various options), to what kind of fragrance you would like to be sprayed onto the pillows. Also, you can choose what type of alcoholic beverage, Favorite food, preferred snack of choice. And last but not least what type of music you prefer to be played in your villa on your arrival. Interesting, isn’t it? After the guests exit the floating seaplane at Soneva’s jetty, everyone will be welcomed with fresh coconut water.
The spectacular 24 water villas of Soneva Jani range from one bedroom, 416 square meter villas up to the four bedroom 1,226-square meter option. Every villa has its own lagoon facing private pool that dazzlingly reflects the colors of the sea. A few villas come with exciting private water slides. Besides, if you wish to stay on land, you will have to book into the 1,752 square meter four-bedroom beach villa, the only one that’s not on stilts, well away from the other accommodations. Including the most original options inside the villas, each master bedroom has its own telescopic roof that slides back for stargazing.
Another fun fact of this property is that you will be asked to kick off your shoes and put them in a bag as soon as you land, as it is a part of the resort’s “no news, no shoes” motto. In this property, privacy is fully guaranteed. Due to a little number of villas, the property feels blessed that it’s empty and quiet.
