Amilla Fushi has held its soft opening on 21 December 2014, with the official opening set for 1 February 2015. Founded and managed by The Small Maldives Island Company, Amilla Fushi sets itself apart with a new modern approach on the ultimate, authentic Maldives experience with neat, contemporary architecture and a luxuriate feel, bringing a new way of doing things to a destination.

ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin) 2016, will be Maldives focussed as the show’s partner country in the Indian Ocean. David Rutz Head of ITB Berlin announced at the DRV (Deutscher ReiseVerband) conference in Abu Dhabi that an agreement will be signed between the Worlds leading Travel Trade Show and the Maldives at a ceremony in the next ITB Berlin, March 2015.
Alexa Sinzig-Mootoo has been appointed as Director of Sales for Europe for The Small Maldives Island Co. Alexa has vast experience in sales and marketing, having held a number of director positions with key hotel brands such as Centara Hotels and Resorts, Soneva and Six Senses, and also worked in the tour operator side of the business with airtours international (a TUI Germany brand).
The Small Maldives Island Company is set to open two new luxury island properties with Amilla Fushi opening in November and Finolhu opening late 2015.
